I’ve been getting in a lot of longarm quilting practice thanks to the kind ladies of the Wednesday sewing group at The Country Loft. All the quilts have been donated by loving patrons and, when finished, will be sold to benefit breast cancer research. Here are the samples I’ve been working on…
This was my very first real quilt that I finished. Up until then I had only practiced on scraps of muslin, I’m very grateful that I get to practice on real quilts, they are so different than whole cloths! I used a pantograph because I was just too nervous to try free hand.
The rest are done free hand. I think after practicing I feel more comfortable with free hand than pantograph patterns although I do think they look nice on many quilts. I guess I’ll just have to keep practicing!
This bright color quilt was quilted with an all-over swirl pattern I learned from a Green Fairy tutorial. Thank you Judi Madsen!! I was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out but feel like I could use a little more practice perfecting the design. Practice, practice, practice!
Trying to practice on those pebbles! This last one is not finished yet. I will post more pictures when it is completed. Thanks for letting me share!
